Helping Cheboygan County Grow and Thrive
We Are Committed to Community Economic Development
Since its founding in 2011, the Cheboygan County Community Foundation has been a beacon of hope for the area. Spearheaded by the Cheboygan Economic Development Group’s efforts, we use donations to assist projects and organizations that exhibit the potential to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors of Cheboygan County. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, and every donation we receive is tax-deductible. Call us today to learn more.
Our Foundation Benefits Residents and Visitors
When the Cheboygan County Community Foundation began in 2011, we endeavored to generate interest from Cheboygan County residents and those who have vacation homes in the area. We recognized that community investment would be necessary to help the region grow and thrive throughout the 21st century. What began as a vibrant commercial area and resort destination along Michigan’s Inland Waterway in the late 1800s had become a niche section of the state with weakening retail and commercial sectors. But our organizers understand Cheboygan County is still an attractive refuge from metropolitan city life. So, we partner with local Chambers of Commerce and generous residents to identify and help fund projects that create good-paying jobs, quality of life improvements, increased property values, and a host of other benefits.
We Proudly Work with Local Chambers of Commerce
Our mission is to raise and invest tax-sheltered funds that support economic and educational projects in Cheboygan County. To ensure we distribute resources in a manner that helps the most people, we work with Chambers of Commerce throughout the region. It is not enough to merely amass donation dollars. We want them to get into the hands of groups and organizations that can maximize their impact. This means contributing to grants, scholarships, and support for individuals, companies, and projects with the best economic interests of Cheboygan County in mind.
