The City of Cheboygan has received a $3,500 grant from the Cheboygan County Community Foundation (CCCF) to support improvements at Majestic River View Park, a pocket park located near the intersection of Court Street and Main Street.

The grant will fund a series of enhancements aimed at increasing both the educational and recreational value of the park. Improvements underway and planned include the installation of educational markers, the addition of a new bench for visitors, and landscaping upgrades to improve the park’s overall appearance and usability.

Work on the project began just prior to the onset of winter, with initial landscaping completed before the first snowfall. Additional improvements will continue as weather conditions allow.

“These enhancements will help create a more welcoming and informative space for residents and visitors alike,” said John Wheaton, Executive Director of the Cheboygan County Community Foundation. “Majestic River View Park is a small but important gathering place, and this project will strengthen its role in our downtown community.”

The City of Cheboygan is grateful for the support that made these improvements possible and looks forward to unveiling the completed updates in the coming season.

Donations to the Cheboygan County Community Foundation make it possible to support economic development, enhance community spaces, and attract more visitors to the Cheboygan area. For more information about the Cheboygan County Community Foundation visit www.cheboyganfoundation.org.
